Release 2.80
Release 2.80 adds new ways to continue your work with AI, brings locations to tasks, and improves the mobile calendar. It also includes a broad reliability pass across sync, integrations, recurring tasks, notifications, and app stability.
Work with AI - Continue from any task, event, or time slot in Claude or ChatGPT, or copy a ready-made prompt with the item's context.
Task locations - Add an address, place, or link to a task. The location is available across desktop, web, and mobile, and carries into locked calendar events.
Fixed recurring birthday events from Google Calendar appearing incorrect dates.
Fixed guests added in Akiflow events not reaching Google Calendar.
Improved event sync after edits, including recurrence changes and updates.
Fixed several issues on the Trello integrations settings page.
Improved the Notion database picker for more reliable setup on the integration settings page.
Fixed Meeting Assistant suggesting tasks again for the same meeting.
Fixed several crashes involving app updates, calendar items, the week planner, rich text pasting, and task popups.
Improved calendar drag performance and dropdown positioning.
Fixed invalid phone links opening as malformed web addresses.
Improved reliability when task and event links open from external tools.
Secondary timezone - Show one additional timezone in the calendar and manage it from Calendar Appearance, View Options, or the calendar itself.
Task locations - Add a location on any task, with the same location visible on desktop and web.
Collapsible week and month headers - Tap the header to open or close the existing week or month selector.
Refreshed settings screens with more consistent spacing, colors, dividers, and controls.
Improved task links created by Claude and other MCP clients so they open the correct task without a false error or extra retry.
Fixed secondary timezone conversion around daylight saving time.
Fixed dragging tasks on the calendar to change their date or time.
Fixed event edits occasionally failing to sync online.
Fixed several recurrence problems when moving tasks to Someday, week, month plans, or updating a full series.
Fixed Todoist tasks completed in Akiflow not being marked as completed in Todoist.
Fixed the task completion sound not playing from the task modal.
Improved the Today view so overdue tasks refresh correctly and timed recurring tasks appear in Unplanned.
Reduced high battery usage and resolved a large set of rare startup, resume, chat, notification, and sync failures.
Fixed the iOS share integration and notifications that could remain stuck after creating a time slot.
Fixed MCP task creation so subtasks use the correct plan and inherit their parent project, and tasks can be added to project sections.
Fixed Meeting Assistant assigning action items to the wrong person.
Fixed Aki email processing for previously connected Outlook accounts.
Improved Notion sync reliability.
