AI Tasks auto-schedule: plan tasks automatically

I thought Akiflow enabled, through their AI, to automatically plan the tasks or at least change the duration and when it takes longer or shorter, and move up/down the next tasks. Now I've seen through this feed that it has been more than 2 years asked by the community and never implemented. Guess I will have to change the choice I've made about the AI calendars... It takes me more time to change it manually than to switch all day between Todoist and Toggl track :')

New user just repeating what so many have apparently already said...
On first impressions Akiflow's UI/UX is levels above Motion's, which is frankly terrible. I also like the 'Aki' AI features that are already here.
That said, I do worry that I'll miss the auto-scheduling part of Motion, and I can't help but feel that if you added this to Akiflow you'd have an irresistible offer...

Max Golby: Thanks for sharing your first impressions! We’re glad you’re enjoying Akiflow’s UI/UX and the Aki AI features.
Regarding Motion’s auto-scheduling you can actually create an "Aki Workflow" that mirrors the same functionality for auto-scheduling and rescheduling. The main difference is that in Akiflow, the workflow is "time-based", so it doesn’t happen simultaneously in real time, but you can set it to trigger every 30 minutes or so.
You can learn more about setting this up here: Aki Workflows Guide

Support suggest that you have this as part of the onboarding, advertise it better, and win market share. I came here from Motion as well and didnt find this comment for 3 months....

Okay after reading about this, not a substitute. You need to build this feature now. Your product is missed a huge opportunity. Compete with Motion, you already have so many other things going for you!!

Cole: Thanks for the feedback! I understand where you’re coming from, and I’ll make sure to share this with the team. We’re always looking at ways to close feature gaps and build on what’s already working well in Akiflow, so your input here is super valuable.

Really need this.
I do this manually at least 5 times a day.

Yes, multiple times a day. I would like it to auto adjust things in slots or adjust tactical actions around strategic ones
Things that are to be done around things that matter the most in a way that conserves my energy as much as possible for other stuff

Yes, this would be a cool function.

Use AI to reschedule calendar press button or us aki to move tasks of block of day. Something similar to motion AI.

Can the product not already do this with AI workflows? Or did I just make it to the inner beta ring:?
Jeson P
Benjamin Thomas: Great question! Yes, our AI can be trained to handle manual actions — just give it a command, and it can learn to execute workflows for you. You're not imagining things! 😊
B
Benjamin Thomas
Jeson P Thanks! So isn't this already done?
Jeson P
Benjamin Thomas: You can go to the workflow and try to create a prompt based on how you want it.

Yes this!. I originally thought Akiflow would do something like this when the "Plan" button was clicked... it would insert the task in the next time block you had for that project with space for it to be done. That would be an amazing assist to planning and make the tool far more powerful
Jeson P
Sheldon Thomas: Totally agree — that kind of smart scheduling during “Plan” would be a huge boost. Really appreciate the suggestion!

It's been over a month since the last post on this thread so I'm just hear to reactivate this request. Working with Aki to auto schedule tasks would be a HUGE win for this product. Even if, as other suggest, it is a toggleable option. Or even if I have to toggle "auto schedule this task" on the task-level itself.
I just went to go build an automation for this via the AI/Aki workflow (Auto-schedule tasks that are on my to-do list that have not been completed for at least 5 days) and I can't use AI for that. Which seems like a
wild
misstep. I have the task, the content, the duration of time to plan for it... why can't Aki simply use that information to schedule it into my calendar?Jeson P
Maryam Shariat Mudrick: Hi! We will definitely revisit this feedback as we improve the AI feature of AKI :)
M
Maryam Shariat Mudrick
Jeson P is it on the roadmap? Because this is a key differentiator between Aki and motion. And though motion has poor Ux/Ui, if Akiflow is not planning on incorporating this within this year, then I’m moving my work elsewhere.
Jeson P
Maryam Shariat Mudrick: Unfortunately, not yet and I cannot give any ETA as we do not have any plans on going to this route yet at the moment.

Jeson P I also agree. The Aki Bot--although great in concept--does not substitute this feature.
Jeson P
Alexandra: Understood! Looking forward for this to be considered by the product team!
