AI Tasks auto-schedule: plan tasks automatically

It's been over a month since the last post on this thread so I'm just hear to reactivate this request. Working with Aki to auto schedule tasks would be a HUGE win for this product. Even if, as other suggest, it is a toggleable option. Or even if I have to toggle "auto schedule this task" on the task-level itself.
I just went to go build an automation for this via the AI/Aki workflow (Auto-schedule tasks that are on my to-do list that have not been completed for at least 5 days) and I can't use AI for that. Which seems like a
wild
misstep. I have the task, the content, the duration of time to plan for it... why can't Aki simply use that information to schedule it into my calendar?Jeson P

Automatically plan tasks based on priority into the calendar

Motion uses a ai planing feature to plan the new tasks into the calendar based on availability and priority. This is a game changer. I couldn’t find this feature with Akiflow - am I right?

Stefania May I ask what's Aki's current vision surrounding this? It's clearly a high priority for many customers, so I would love to know why it's not a priority for Aki at the minute.
Stefania
Alexandra Schuster: Hi Alexandra, Aki is already able to plan your day/week for you or adjust your schedule based on your needs.
Aki is currently available only for a group of users, we'll release it in batches to everyone. We'll also improve the feature that helps your to plan based on your feedback of course :)

Stefania How exactly is Aki solving this issue? I dont want to talk to a Chatbot, to tell him, to move all overdue Tasks of today to the next day, when the end of day is in the past. Or when i have 20 Tasks, they should automatically schedule for the days categorized by project. I dont want to talk to a chatbot, then i can just do it on my own.

Patrick I very much agree! I don't want to have to think about it--I just want aki to do it for me. Aki is incredible--the only reason I would considering leaving it for UseMotion is due to the task automation feature/subtask and dependence features.

Patrick Alexandra Schuster Aki is designed to be an assistant that follows your commands, not an automation that makes decisions on its own. The idea is to give you control while making things faster and easier. Instead of manually moving tasks one by one, you can tell Aki exactly what to do—like rescheduling overdue tasks or organizing them by project—without it making unintended changes. That way, you stay in charge, but with less effort.

I am on the verge of leaving you for Reclaim, this feature is so very important!

Hi Christian Riedi We're actively exploring the best ways to bring this functionality into Akiflow while ensuring that AI enhances the experience without taking away user autonomy.
Our goal is to keep Akiflow as flexible and user-driven as possible while improving automation where it makes sense. As soon as the team makes progress on this, I’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Jayrich Sebullen All your released „AI“ Features are senseless, they are so minor helpful. I dont need a chatbot or something which categorize my tasks. Since i cannot do anytime productive with the categories in general. So AI features like reclaim or motion is using, is way more senseful than your added ai features. I’m using Akiflow since 2021, but the focus on these senseless features are insane

Patrick: I hear you, and I get that our AI features might not be what you're looking for. It sounds like you're after something more automation-driven, like what Reclaim or Motion offer. Akiflow’s approach is a bit different since we don't want to remove the ability to have our user do things at their own pacing and not be overwhelmed with AI or automations.

Jayrich Sebullen Is there any way this could be a toggle-able feature? As someone with ADHD, the mental load of constantly managing overdue tasks is real. AI-scheduling wouldn’t just be a nice-to-have—it would genuinely help me stay productive, not just plan to be. Aki’s flexibility is amazing, but this one feature would be a game changer. And clearly, I’m not alone—this has come up again and again from long-time users.

Motion does this and is a good competitor for Akiflow...

Adding a comment on behalf of Abid: Enable Akiflow's auto-scheduling to be context-aware by integrating external data sources, such as weather information. For example, if snow is forecasted for Tuesday, the system could automatically schedule 30 minutes for shoveling in the morning. This would enhance productivity by dynamically adjusting schedules based on real-world conditions.

It's been so long! When are we going to see this update?
Jeson P
Azure Raindrop Don Ho: Hello! We absolutely see how auto-scheduling could streamline task management and make the tool even more powerful! While it’s not part of Akiflow’s current vision, we’re excited to keep this idea open for consideration as we explore future possibilities. 🚀

Jeson P Whats the current vision? The current AI features are not really AI features, more ML features. At its a different context than the original Akiflow App.
