Command Bar: let me edit the task adding project, deadline, etc. all together
M
Matt
When working down my inbox quickly, I want to be able to plan a task before I project it (and vice versa). I don't want to have to think about the order in which I type commands. The current behavior will remove the task from the inbox as soon as I plan it so I have to remember to do everything first (projects, due date) else I then have to go chase it down (which breaks my flow) or leave it without a project assigned to it (which hurts my organization).

Command bar for modifying selected task metadata (with NLP)
R
Raw
Hi, I think it would be cool if we could use the command bar to modify the metadata for whatever task is selected without opening it in a popout window.
I've just migrated to Akiflow from Todoist, and am looking for an experience that would allow me to define different things about a task without moving my mouse
and
without having to do a series of keyboard shortcuts. The purpose of this is for more buttery smooth task processing and less potential of looking away from the current task and feeling overwhelmed.
Currently, I need to do this to prioritise, assign a project, label, and then plan:
shift+1 + enter -> shift+3 + enter -> shift+8 + enter -> P + enter
With this approach, i'd just:
ctrl+k (to open command bar in-app, not the global one. This command bar would serve for adding metadata rather than other functions) -> !!, #[project name], *cat (my tag for urgent tasks), [plan date]
Sort of imagine the regular command bar, but if I could use it to directly modify this tasks metadata, like descriptions as well.
I think this would give akiflow a sort of different dynamic when it comes to task modification post creation, since you could navigate most of your tasks using just this natural language command bar.

Natural language input while editing, not just creating
D
Dodge
Right now the Natural Language and special characters detection is really helpful during task creation from the Command Bar but appears to go away in many if not all editing windows. It would be so great to be able to hit (for example) "P", jump into planning something with natural language, and then while we're at it add the #Project and =Duration without stopping to grab the mouse. Just a flow thing, but so buttery smooth when it works everywhere. :)

any updates on this?

Patrícia: Hi Patricia, you can already do this on creation, we had to postpone the "edit" mode, I'll keep you posted about it!

Use special characters in the Plan command

I'd like to use special characters like =, # etc, while I am using the Plan command (hit P and use the command bar to plan a task), so I don't have to add one information at a time.
