For context - I manage different teams so I have each team as a "project" and assign time slots based off when Im working with each team. I would like to see how many hours are devoted to each "project" so I can manage my hours per team."

Here's an interesting implementation inspired by Sunsama:

Tasks without a duration stays that way by default if added to a slot. Then compare between the total duration of completed tasks in that slot (where duration-less tasks count as 0) and the slot duration. Take whichever is higher for calculating stats.

This works well with time-tracking if that is added too: have the option to track either the slot as a whole or track individual tasks within that slot. The same comparison rules apply, but the "actual" tracked time is used instead of planned duration.
