A very simple but I think effective feature that would benefit all. This would act like a virtual assistant, providing timely nudges for upcoming tasks. This will be especially useful for tasks with longer timelines, such as license renewals, project milestones, or deadlines that are easy to overlook in the daily workflow/inbox.
Here are some potential key aspects of this feature:
  1. Deadline-Linked Reminders: Attach reminders to the deadline of a task. Users can select options to be reminded a day, a week, or a month before the deadline.
  2. Custom Reminder Scheduling: Allow users to set custom reminders independent of the deadline. For instance, if a task is due in four months, users can choose to be reminded in three weeks. This flexibility caters to personal workflow preferences.
  3. Adjustable Reminder Frequency: Users can choose how often they want to be reminded as the deadline approaches – daily, weekly, or at specific intervals, and can also modify these reminders at any time for that given task.
  4. Smart Notifications: Implement smart notification logic that factors in the importance and urgency of tasks, prioritizing reminders accordingly. (Not critical but would be nice to have)
How this would look:
Task area with an option in the task menu called "Set a Reminder", when clicked on presents a small menu of options which have projects:
  • 1 day before deadline
  • 1 week before deadline
  • 1 month before deadline
  • Custom
I'm absolutely loving Akiflow, and this would honestly seal the deal even further for me, I've found it hard to come across any apps that actually do this, or do this well.
