Option to Combine "Scheduled" and "Non-Scheduled" Tasks in the Today Panel

Currently, the Today panel is split into multiple sections—Todos, Overdue, Scheduled on Calendar, and optionally Done. Users are requesting an option to disable this sectioning and display all tasks in a single, unified list.

Additional clarification - the Todos, Overdue, Scheduled segmenting option could be moved to the existing "Sort by" functionality in the Today panel settings. So it could be disabled/enabled based on user preferences.
(I would argue that it current default of sort by "Plan Date" is inaccurate. If it was, it would all be a single, unified list for that date. To me, the current default should be labeled "Scheduled" or "Planned" and plan date should be moved to another option on the list - "None" or "Manual".
