Plan a task multiple times / Handle longer tasks
Felix
I'd like that the task duration and the time blocked in the calendar for that task did not match. So I can plan a task multiple times, like in Sunsama.

I would like you to introduce a feature where tasks that span across multiple days or time slots can remain in the assigned spaces, but a synced duplicate can be moved to the desired time or date you wish to finish it. This can also help with time tracking.

This is very important for time tracking too. I would like to see when I did work on a task. Or at least make Subtasks possible.
Jeson P
Hadhemi Gafsi: We currently have an alternative to subtasks.
Our task description has a check box bullet that can allow you to replicate subtasks.
You can also use Time Slot as Task and Tasks within the Time Slot as subtasks. :)

+1 to this idea! I hope this could be implemented soon in next updates. Thank you Akiflow team!

This feature would be very welcomed for me since i have sometimes "global" tasks which i schedule several times and I like to keep info about this task in it's description, but currently i need to edit all of them, or schedule only after editing which is somewhat repetitive. Having single "task" and multiple "schedules" would be cool

I was wondering if there are any plans for implementing this feature? Stefania
I’m currently hitting a roadblock with my Notion integration. When I import a project from Notion, it takes several hours to complete, and it’s challenging to block out such a long stretch of time in one go.
Right now, I’m duplicating the task to break it down, but it’s becoming pretty tedious to do this manually every time. It would be incredibly helpful to have the ability to plan and schedule chunks of this task throughout the day or even over multiple days until the project is fully completed.
Would love it if it applied to regular Akiflow tasks as well!
Thanks in advance for considering this!

Turquoise Taxi: Hi! Thanks for your feedback. We haven't planned this feature yet but we surely consider this for the next year. I'll keep you posted here:)

Long-term Tasks

Akiflow's current features are excellent for daily task planning. However, long-term tasks can be a bit confusing. Time management methodologies (like GTD) often suggest breaking down large tasks into smaller sub-tasks or turning a big task into a project. This usually works well, and Akiflow excels at this. But sometimes, tasks can't be completed in a day. For example, when I'm working on a painting, it takes more than a day, and I don't want to create a project or break it down into daily sub-tasks.
Currently, I can set a deadline for the task, but it shows as overdue if I don't complete it within a day. This is an issue for tasks like taking courses, finishing a series, or any task that spans multiple days without a clear end date.
I would love Akiflow to have features for medium to long-term tasks that require more than a day. A possible solution is a list for long-term tasks that don’t show as overdue unless the deadline passes. It would also be great to track task progress as a percentage without sub-tasks and allocate specific time slots for these tasks. For example, during "free time," Akiflow could suggest tasks like "finish series 'X'" or "work on painting."
Most tools lack this feature, and adding it would complete the project and task management experience. Akiflow is the perfect tool to implement this, and I hope to see it soon. Thank you!

I like the idea of putting in a long duration for big tasks and having this split across multiple slots. At present I lost out all the sub tasks and put those into slots but that can take a while for long, but routine, tasks.

Something like "continue task" would be good too (if it's not how it works in this suggestion)
Current workaround is to just duplicate task and fill it like this. But if adding info to task, this is not really stable and info can be missing.

Time Tracking and Task Hierarchy Support
M
M U
To enhance usability and meet user needs, please add the ability to track time over multiple sessions for a single task, allowing users to start, pause, and resume timers, and implement task hierarchy support to manage tasks and sub-tasks. These features will enable accurate time management across different periods and provide better organization for complex projects, making the app more suitable for advanced time tracking and task management.
