Subtasks (create and import from all integrations)

Hey, all. I hesitate a bit to add this because I
really
want Akiflow to find a great way to add subtasks, but for anyone who's finding it slows them down not to have that option (as it does me) here's a work-around for now. As Therese of the Akiflow team points out in this Slack message, you can use Time Slots to create the parent task then add tasks within that Time Slot as the subs. It's better than the check-boxes (tho they have their own purpose) because you can reschedule anything unfinished -- for example, one of the five emails you hoped to write during that period. The downside is that you have to schedule the TimeSlot by definition, so it can't live in your general task list; however, it can be moved to other times you plan to take care of that group. Hope that's helpful to someone!

Dodge: Thanks for sharing this workaround! It’s a great way to manage tasks while we work on finding the best solution for subtasks. We really appreciate your patience and creativity in using Time Slots to organize your tasks. Hopefully, it helps others too!

Have subtasks made it on to the roadmap yet? Surprising the team has not prioritized this...
Jeson P
Jo Pearl: We know how interesting and useful this can be but we are considering a lot of factors before we decide to start working on this but realllyyyyy hoping it will be in the near future!

+1 to this. This would compliment the new weekly/monthly horizons quite nicely!

Agree with the fact that not all tasks are just independent. We need a way to make a task, imported from gmail for exemple, a subtask of another one. Otherwise the task list is just a mess ! And could we have a progress bar showing how much of the subtasks are done...

The same for me, I was on a recent webinar and said that there are features under review that could lean me towards switching to Akiflow 5 years subscription. Subtasks is a one of those things, to be honest I'm eagerly reading each changelog and trying to see there some good implementation of subtasks, like dividing a big task into small "eatable" pieces, concrete checkpoints to see the task progress. Unfortunately, the current checklists in the task description are nowhere near to say they are suitable for this purpose. But, anyway, Thanks for releasing time slots some time ago and recent mobile checklists, although it's not the same, but at least smth.
Just for inspiration, I think checklists/subtasks in TickTick is where that app did a great job. (especially in mobile version)
Jeson P
Mykhailo Talashov: Thank you for this! This will greatly help us in checking how we can implement this if our devs will decide to start working on this.

I've paid for Akiflow (annual) before realizing that subtasks aren't an option. Coming from Sunsama because some of the Calendar options and easier task capture felt good in my flow - but the lack of subtasks is really a deal breaker. The way that they (sunsama) are able to run tasks as multi-day options AND have subtasks means I'm actually handling my workflow and workload in a more honest and maintainable way.
Seeing that this is a feature that people have been asking for for 3ish years is a bit of a bummer, it's such critical functionality to a platform that "Every personal to-do, every work task and those surprise meetings.
Beautifully organised in your calendar!"

Kate Dole: Hi Kate! We do have couple work arounds on how to replicate a subtasks by using a task description and Time Slot. I can check this with you on a call. If you can book a call here below, I'd be happy to show you:

I really need this feature, having between 50 and 100 projects (GTD)... Already any plans on when you will plan this?
Jeson P
Jonathan: We cannot provide an ETA but are designers are already checking on this and will update the status for any progression!

I made a workaround for this until your team creates this.
I create a #Project and I create a Section of the Main Task I want to work on and create my Subtasks there.
