Should be able to import task checklists that are associated with imported task from any third party integrated app and see them underneath the task or when task is opened as checklist items for the task and operate like subtasks the way Sunsama does. It sure would be nice not to have to navigate away from the app to check off my checklist and subtasks ya know what I mean.

Building on this, would want to also be able to independently schedule the subtask while tracking progress against the task as a whole. This would enable being to break down a project into smaller tasks and still track the larger task's completion. Combined with smart scheduling AI, this would be a game-changer feature to help ensure there's time for incremental progress without having to make hundreds of tasks

What's the situation with this feature? Unfortunately for me, this is a deal breaker and something that is making me consider going back to Todoist. I always use it to break down big tasks into smaller tasks and then just schedule a time session for each subtask.
Now, Todoist works for this, but I like Akiflow because it gives me a clear overview of my full calendar and an easy drag-and-drop task into calendar feature.
So, is this feature planned, and when are you planning to release it?

yes please, right now i am using the checklist inside the task (and sometimes it disappears after i've written it and i loose what was there, in macbook app)

Until Akiflow has its own subtasks, Todoist subtasks are imported as disjointed full tasks with no relation to the parent task. It breaks the workflow, unfortunately, and makes a mess of the Inbox and Today view. I end up spending 10 minutes trying to copy and paste everything into a checklist so that I can put it back back together as a single item. Please at least give us a toggle option to import sub task as checklist items so that the parent task and the subs can stay together. Thanks!

I think you missed my point: I don't want you to change the program to add subtasks. Akiflow can handle subtasks already by using folders and labels.

Akiflow has been working for me, just the way it is. I went back and looked at some tasks in Todoist that I had setup as a task with subtasks, and I didn't like what I saw. The view of the tasks inside a task did not resonate with me like the interface I see when I look at the Akiflow setup. Clicking the parent task in Todoist opens a new window with a completely different interface than the main screen and suddenly I found my mind thinking differently as well.
So why are people using Akiflow and not Todoist which has this task/subtask feature? For me, I no longer use Todoist because I made things so complicated that I lost the true purpose of using these apps, and that is to get things done. But all is not lost!
Akiflow is so powerful, you can setup a system of complex tasks and subtasks and keep this wonderful Akiflow interface intact. Using the labels/folders feature, I created a folder named " in Progress", and inside this folder several labels of complex tasks (task, label, mini-project, parent task...call it want you want). One of these labels is named "#Notion" because creating tasks to do that I need to complete ideas/updates in Notion is a never ending process. I click on the label "#Notion" and this produces a list of just "Notion" tasks in the center window of the Akiflow interface like all the other lists I look at to process/plan/schedule. You can go up to the menu and click "Today" and suddenly the "Notion" list disappears. Click on the folder "in Progress" and suddenly all the labels role up out-of-site. Now that's focus; you're just looking at today's tasks in that center screen.
I have another label inside the folder "in Progress" named "#Process Emails". Using Zapier and Outlook, I trigger the Flag inside an Email I want to work on and this Email title appears as a To Do in Outlook's Flagged Email and a new task is created in Akiflow inside (you guessed it) the label named "#Process Emails". Anytime I want to see the Emails I need to work on, I click on the "#Process Emails" label and up pops a list in the center of the Akiflow interface. I can add details in the description of the task, I can plan/schedule the task like any other task in Akiflow, or, using the two-minute rule, just do what's necessary and mark it done. In time, I'll get a link inside the Akiflow task that sends me back to the the original Email itself. I got it to work once. Maybe an Akiflow integration will appear in the future that will insure this feature works every time.
So why did I write all of this detail in a minimal message forum? Simple. Akiflow is working for me just the way it is now. Any changes made to the program and interface should be carefully considered. After all, Akiflow is a time-based app that handles To Do's very well. I have used Todoist, Trello, Outlook, Google, Fantastical, Notion..., and for various reasons, although each program had its pluses, I eventually stopped using all of them.

We do try to be very careful to add complexity to Akiflow, and we try to add features can that really make a difference into the product. So we'll keep consider adding subtasks (a lot of people are asking for it) but we won't rush into that:)
