If you change this, please leave the current style as an option. I find the intrusiveness of the notifications very helpful to be quite honest. I do not think I have missed a meeting since using Akiflow.

I’m really ready for this to be fixed. Today, in the middle of teaching and screen recording a very important professional course, Akiflow repeatedly bypassed the system’s Don Not Disturb order to banner-splash a GIANT ad for the five-year plan. It was distracting, embarrassing, and unprofessional — not OK. Please respect this request to work out the details and allow system management of notifications. I believe you would have in my higher request count if people understood what was causing the notification overlaps, unexcused interruptions, and lack of badge counts. I had no idea til I saw a complaint of Slack and realized this is essentially a choice, not a bug. Hope you’ll make the other one soon!

It'd be great if you can work on even a basic version of this. Not having a badge for outstanding tasks in the system dock is a pain :( I keep checking the app to see if I have any tasks left.

The current system means i miss notifications because they are under the system notifications. Please use the system notifications.

I am a dev. I know what they have done. This isn't a bug. It is a design choice and its not paying off. It is actually really detrimental to me using akiflow because now I am missing notifications. This will require your product team to nail some technical details to fix.
Jeson P
Jared Wyles: I understand. I am submitted this feedback to them for further reassessing. I'll keep you on the loop!

Thank you for submitting this, Jared Wyles! I am checking this with the devs to see if this is a potential bug. I will update you!

Even just moving them would be a huge help. When the notifications pop up, they cover a large portion of the screen, including the profile/settings button at the top of Akiflow (if you have it at full screen or on the right half). I like to leave them open for the countdown because there's no option to snooze them or set an additional alert closer to the time of the event/slot/task, which makes it impossible to access Akiflow's settings. Personally, I'm less invested in using system notifications than being able to hide the notifications temporarily. Large notifications aren't a problem if you can snooze them easily and for custom amounts of time. The best version of this feature that I've seen is In Your Face's snooze options. Those notifications take up the entire screen, but it's not obtrusive because snoozing is so quick and easy.

Agree. The current notifications are very intrusive

Otherwise use the current notification system, but add a feature if you can to listen to changes to the mac do not disturb status and don't show your akiflow notifications if that setting is on
