Thanks, Mark. Glad the existing flow works for you. I understand the remaining need: group tasks into batches in Inbox first, then schedule each batch when you are ready. I’m combining this with the existing request for grouping tasks in the task list, where that workflow has also been raised. We haven’t committed to a timeline.

Sometimes, as I do my daily planning, I see that I have multiple tasks that would be great to batch together.

Right now, the way to go about it is to create a new predetermined time slot on the calendar first, then multi-select all of those tasks, click on the edit bar or open the edit bar, and then say "Add to time slot." While this is good as a starter for my brain, a more fluid approach or workflow would be, in the daily planning view, to multi-select tasks, open the edit bar for those tasks, and then have an option to create a time slot using those tasks instead of selecting an already existing time slot.

For example, if I have multiple tasks that fall into the bucket of admin, I could select those five tasks (Command-E on Mac), then select "Create new time slot" or "Batch tasks together." It would create a new grouped slot on my calendar from those tasks. Instead of having to create the slot separately first and then drag and drop those tasks, it would be more natural to multi-select and then batch them all together, kind of like you would on a computer where you select multiple files, right-click, and do "Create a folder with these files."

Hi Mark, you can already select several tasks, press P, and choose a date and time to create a time slot containing them, without creating an empty slot first.

Would that solve your batching workflow, or is there something you still need that this approach doesn’t cover?

Hey Tadej, got it. Thank you. I didn’t realize this was possible. This is a good solution to what I was looking for.

The only thing that would make this better for my workflow would be to select several tasks, press P, and then choose create a new batched slot that would show in the inbox instead of the calendar. This way I could batch a large list of todos into a handful of slots, and then drag and drop the handful of slots from the inbox to schedule them on the calendar.

However, I realize this is not how the time slots function since they’re only visible on the calendar. But just thought I’d share what makes sense to how my brain works.

Thanks for all your hard work and great responsiveness!
