Add a dedicated "Events" section in the Today tab

Current Issue:

While your app excels at task management, it currently lacks a clear way to distinguish time-sensitive events (like meetings) from regular tasks. This makes it challenging to use the app as both a task manager and a primary calendar.

The problem is exacerbated by the app's innovative approach of assigning time slots to tasks directly in the calendar. While this is a fantastic feature for task management, it creates a sort of 'inflation' of time slots in the calendar view. As a result, important events can easily get "swallowed up" or lost among the numerous task entries. This makes it increasingly difficult to quickly identify which meetings or appointments I have scheduled for the day.

It's worth noting that simply color-coding events differently from tasks is not an ideal solution for various reasons, including accessibility and visual clarity. Even Microsoft Outlook, which primarily deals with events rather than tasks, recognizes the limitations of a purely visual calendar. They offer users the option to view a separate column listing all meetings for the day in chronological order, alongside their times. This approach is far more efficient than scrolling through an entire visual calendar to locate events scattered across different times.

Proposed Solution:

Create a separate column or section within the Today view that displays all scheduled events/meetings for the day in chronological order. This would provide users with a quick, at-a-glance view of their day's commitments, similar to Outlook's efficient list view, but integrated seamlessly with your app's task management capabilities.

Benefits:

1. Quick Overview: Users can instantly see all their important time commitments for the day.

2. Reduced Missed Appointments: Separating events from tasks will make it less likely for users to overlook crucial meetings.

3. All-in-One Solution: This feature would eliminate the need to use separate calendar apps alongside your app.

4. Enhanced Usability: It would make your app more versatile, serving as both a task manager and an effective calendar.

Implementation Suggestion:

Consider adding a collapsible "Today's Events" section at the top of the Today tab, listing all scheduled events with their times. To maintain the app's clean aesthetic and cater to different user preferences, this could be an optional feature that users can enable in their settings. This way, those who don't feel the need for this additional view won't have their visual experience altered.

This addition would significantly improve the app's utility as a comprehensive productivity tool, aligning with your goal of creating a central app that can effectively organize a user's entire day.

I believe this feature would be highly valued by many users and would set your app apart from other task management solutions.
