Additional and optional task statuses

When managing your activity by goals and/or projects, I usually have tasks that have intermediate statuses like: blocked/waiting for something, and sometimes I delegate it, and in addition I have a new related task to follow up. ATM I don't see option to manage this kind of tasks except with tags, but it's not the best option there is. I would prefer to have a separate statuses for such tasks.
But I think it should be optional so that people that don't require such feature could turn it on/off.
