Additional option to "Someday" - later?
I'm a user with a large number of tasks (hundreds), "Someday" is a mess and isn't that helpful for me.
I would personally favour an (optional?) additional category of "Later".
So you end up with:
- Inbox (Capture)
- Today/Upcoming - Time blocked tasks
- Later - Non-dated, but actions that are "next up" just pending a date.
- Someday - Things to keep in mind, but not necessarily something that will happen (similar to "someday/maybe" in GTD).
At the moment, the only option is to either date something (and then continue to change the dates, which is heavy administratively) or to use "someday" which then leaves nowhere for "these are things I don't want to forget, but am unlikely to get to anytime soon"
Having this as almost a "backlog" within the "upcoming" section would then also allow for enhanced planning processes

Hi everyone,
We just released a new version of Akiflow with some huge changes!
We removed the Snooze feature (no worries, no tasks are lost and ‘Someday’ it’s still there!) and added Time Frames, reviewing completely the Upcoming view, the Plan options and the Rituals (adding weekly ones as well).

So you can finally plan not only for a specific date or someday, but also any time frame like "this week" "this month" "January" etc!.

I would find this very helpful. I have a huge backlog of tasks (150 and counting…) due to chronic illness. My only options are to either import them all from their various sources, clogging up my Inbox and Someday lists, or constantly having to go back and look at the sources to make sure everything gets added when necessary.

I had moved back to Things which has a ‘Anytime’ and ‘Someday’ options. The latter is effectively hidden in Things, and Anytime is basically a non-dated option.
I guess this could be ‘later’ or ‘up next’ or ‘soon’ or ‘next actions’ or similar. Or better yet - give users the option of optional statuses or ‘smart lists’ or similar from other tools.
I’ve picked up Akiflow again with your BF sale, and I’m using a label with ‘someday’ used as the status - it’s not ideal but works for now - what I dislike is I can only have one label so if it’s either labelled or in my ‘up next’ label lacking context - it’ll work for now though

Would it work just to have "Someday" items not automatically hidden when you look at a label?
I tried creating a "Soonish" label for unscheduled tasks, but the problem was, that all the Someday tasks were hidden when I clicked on the label

Nunzio: It would be nice also to offer a global setting to change the default. E.g.,
my preference is to have Someday open by default but then to close it once I've made sure there is nothing in there I need to attend to.
