this is a "table stakes" expectation for how labels work. This is specifically what differentiates a label from a folder. So it is quite disappointing this was not a core requirement when label was introduced.

Hi Timo, we are releasing this week the Tag feature. You'll be able to tag all your tasks with multiple tags and filter every view by them. Do you think this could solve your issue?

Stefania: Seems like it, excited to try this out! Will there be an option to have multiple "permanent" filters? I.e., I once create a filter for tasks with #work and one for #private and am then able to save those filters instead of having to re-apply them?

Timo: Yes exactly! We may release this specific feature in the next sprint. I'll reach out once this feature is live:)

The way I think of using this feature is to add a tag for short tasks that last less than a quarter of an hour, in addition to adding a tag to link the task to a specific project or area, in this way when I have half an hour or an hour of free time I can find short tasks or medium-duration tasks and work on them

I would really like to be able to put multiple labels on a task. I currently have labels for different clients, but also need to apply labels for to categorize by people, project, and workflow step. Please consider adding this! Thanks :)

Great discussion! I think one of the sources of confusion is the use of the term labels. In my intuition, labels are another term for tags where traditionally an item can be assigned multiple tags. However, Akiflow is rather built on a "project" concept, where a task/item can only belong to one project. I personally prefer that only one label/tag/project can be assigned to a task, but that's just my use case.

I am absolutely in love that I can move from one label to another in one step. Most "tag" systems require that individually add and delete the relevant tags. Two ways to handle this I suppose:
(My preference) Let me choose. Add a system-wide option to use single or multiple tags.
Or, give me a "move" command that removes the current label and adds the new one.

Matt: Hi Matt, you can use the shortcut # to change the label assigned to a task. Let me know if this is what you where looking for (2).

Stefania: Hi. Yes, that works. I already user that. I was commenting on the not-yet-implemented suggestion. If you allow multiple tags, let me turn that off and keep the current (single tag) behavior as an option.

With the recently released label folders feature we could really benefit from assigning multiple labels to a task. It allows us to add as much context as wanted and run a much smoother GTD project tracking.
