Card notifications should be easier to get rid of (e.g. swipe away)

Card notifications that appear in the top-right of the screen, e.g. "Event is starting in 2 minutes" are pretty annoying to get rid of.
My default behavior to remove a card notification is a two finger swipe, but it doesn't work.
As far as I can tell, the only way to remove the notification is to click the "Close" button which is very small.
Would love a quicker / easier way to declutter my screen after I've seen the notification! A swipe, keyboard shortcut, or something else :)
