Click on date in month or day view to go to that date

I'd like to be able to go directly to the 'day view' of a specific date by clicking (or double clicking) on that date in 'month view' or 'week view' without having to use shortcut keys. Currently clicking on a date in 'week view' seems to bring that date to the beginning of the week which, in my opinion, is a much less useful feature and is visually confusing as well.
