"Do NOT Do" task/project section
I would like a place to put canceled items. For example, I was going to develop some software, but I decided against it. I don't want future self to say "gee, wouldn't it be nice if…?" and forget what past Anthony said about it: (ex: terrible idea, already been done).

I really need this as well, because at this point in time the only option is "Delete" or "Done", with the former leading to this task or idea to not exist at all anymore (no "Deleted Tasks" Section), and the latter falsely distorting the task statistics, because the task was not really "Done", it was simply removed.
So either you can not look into the past what you decided against doing, or you can not easily distinguish which tasks were actually done, or simply ticked in order to declutter the calendar.

Well, I had originally had thought about making a project folder named "canceled" that would be a container for projects that fell under the "do not do" section, but then they would have to be postponed indefinitely and while that helps you remember what not to do, it can get a little annoying--you only need to be reminded so many times before you're sure you won't forget not doing that thing. I was hoping to leave it to your design team to figure it out, but my suggestion would be that it go in the Today/Inbox/other section. Maybe make it something that users can turn off if they don't see the value in it, just in case I'm the only weirdo who thinks it's necessary.

Hi Anthony Wardell Thanks for sharing Anthony! Just to clarify would you want a place for canceled items specifically in the Projects section, or also in Today/Inbox/other parts of Akiflow? That’ll help us understand better where it would be most useful.

Support Hey there, actually there is a quite similar post from 2024 already. I am also highly in favor of both Anthony, as well as David from the linked post.
Perhaps consider merging them?

I think it is all about having the option and section of "Won't Do" and potentially even a "Deleted Tasks" or "Trash" Sections.
The way "TickTick" is handling this is great I believe.
I attached a screenshot of the sidebar from TickTick, and how you can simply rightclick "Won't Do" on any given task.

Brian Rohde Looks like I'm not the only one! Great minds think alike.
I also think we need a way to automate detection of tasks that are associated with "won't do". For example, while this would probably be overkill, you could have an AI (such as AKI) pull you aside if you were about to make a task that you had forgotten was a "won't do".
