macOS: Add an option to disable week-navigation animations

I would like an option in the macOS app to disable the transition animations that play when using ‘Go to next week’ or ‘Go to previous week’ in the planner.

When I navigate several weeks forward or backward, each click triggers the animation and the interface becomes noticeably slow. The delay makes it difficult to move through multiple weeks quickly.

Suggested solution:

  • Add a setting such as ‘Disable calendar navigation animations’.

  • Alternatively, skip the animation when the navigation buttons are used repeatedly.

This would make week navigation feel much faster and more responsive, especially when reviewing future or past weeks.

    Hi Francis, thanks for your feedback. Week navigation currently waits for the scrolling animation before accepting another click.

    Your request is tracked. We don’t have an ETA, but the need is clear: moving through several weeks quickly without waiting after every click.

        With the next app update 2.82 version we are shipping some performance improvements and would love to hear your feedback about this navigation/animation.

          Hi Francis,

          Thanks again for the detailed report on week navigation feeling slow.

          We looked into it, and we're not yet sure the animation itself is the cause. Version 2.82 includes several performance improvements that could affect how quickly the calendar moves between weeks.

          Could you update to 2.82 and try clicking through a few weeks forward and back? We'd love to hear:

          1. Does it feel faster than before?

          2. If it's still slow, is the delay mainly while the transition plays, or does the calendar take a moment to show events after it lands on a week?

          Your answer will help us decide the right fix.
