Mobile app: Multiple sequential task addition

In the mobile app, it would be helpful to have the ability, when entering a new task, to create it and have the "Enter new task" field remain open for me to capture the next task immediately without having to reopen or click the plus button. This is how Todoist does it: once you enter a task and click Create, it stays in that add new task mode, so I can right away write the next task, the next task, the next task. This would make it quicker to capture multiple tasks without having to re-enter the add task prompt.

    Hi Tadej, I’ve tried using Aki for multiple tasks and it’s great. But at the moment Aki is still a bit slow to process through everything. I think having the ability to quickly type reminders and tasks one after another would still be a useful workflow. The other issue with Aki is that when you click on the “+” to add task, it doesn’t have a quick way of passing multiple tasks to Aki except through voice. And while voice is very convenient, there are times I’m unable to speak and use the voice functionality. Maybe if the “+” add task would have quick access to Aki it would make it more fluid?

    Also, I usually click the Aki widget on my IOS lock screen which takes me to the “+” or add task view so closing it and navigating to the Aki tab would add friction.

      Thanks, Mark. That makes sense. We’ve scoped this improvement for design review, but don’t have a release date yet.

      Hi Mark, there’s an existing way to enter tasks consecutively on mobile: open Inbox and tap the inline “Add task” field at the top. Type a task and press the keyboard’s submit arrow. The field clears and the keyboard stays open so you can immediately type the next task.

      Could you try this and let us know whether it works for you? I remember you usually start from the lock-screen widget, so it would help to know whether opening Inbox is convenient enough.

        Hey Tadej, thanks for your reply!

        Just tried it. It’s great if I’m in the Inbox view, but unfortunately requires too many steps to effectively capture quick thoughts or tasks in the heat of the moment. (Especially coming from the Lock Screen as you mentioned.)

          Thanks for trying it, Mark. That clarifies the gap: consecutive entry works in Inbox, but getting there from the Lock Screen interrupts quick capture. I’ve added that distinction to our design review.

    Hi Mark, thanks for the suggestion. You can already capture several tasks in one message to Aki, for example: “Create separate tasks in my Inbox: buy groceries, call the dentist, and send the proposal.”

    Would that help with your workflow, or would you prefer entering tasks individually with the task form staying open?
