My use case is quick task capture from my iPhone Lock Screen using the Akiflow widget.
Previously, when I tapped the Add Task widget, I could either type the task directly or tap a button to record a voice message and send it to Aki. I really liked this setup because one Lock Screen widget gave me multiple ways to capture something depending on the situation. The only thing I wish it had was the option to text Aki from that same widget.
After a recent update, those capture options seem have been separated into three different Lock Screen widgets:
Add Task
Text Aki
Record Voice to Aki
The problem is that this forces me to choose my capture method in advance when setting up my Lock Screen. Since Lock Screen widget space is limited, I don't necessarily want to dedicate multiple widgets to Aki just so I can choose between typing and speaking.
I’d much prefer having a single Add Task widget that opens a capture screen where I can then choose how I want to add the task — for example, type it normally, text Aki, or speak to Aki.
That would preserve the convenience of having just one Aki widget on the Lock Screen while still giving me flexibility in how I capture a task in the moment.
For me, the previous behavior was actually more useful because it didn’t force me to commit to one input method ahead of time.
