"Needs follow up" tasks that don't clog up my list of tasks that actively need doing

I have tons of things that are not exactly tasks, but that I need to follow up on in the future, perhaps multiple times. Examples:

  • If I send out a deliverable for QA, I want to follow up to see if they've reviewed it.

  • If I send an email, I want to follow up until they respond.

  • If I have a project that is currently roadblocked, I want to follow up to see what the status is.

I have tons of these tasks where there is nothing to be done on my end yet other than wait an appropriate amount of time before following up, and they are clogging up my "this week" and "this month" list.

I don't know what the perfect solution is, but here are a couple ideas:

Idea 1: I would love to be able to mark a task as "needs follow up" and then those tasks just disappear from my this week and today boards until the daily planning rituals, where one of the steps is "plan follow ups" and it shows me all the things I need to follow up on, and I can either mark them done, or create a follow up task for them for today or the next day.

Idea 2: Have a separate list of tasks on the sidebar called "Follow Ups". I can look at them all, and they would let me set a cadence (every x day, every x weeks, etc) to follow up on them. Until they are marked as done, each {cadence} they will create a new task in my inbox to follow up.
