Bring back the ability for an open sidebar

Bring back the ability to expand the new slimline sidebar to the full version. The more minimal sidebar is a massive downgrade for users who utilise many projects within folders: having to go into the hover menu is absolutely horrible, especially when dipping in and out of different projects quickly. The sidebar should support both the new slimline view and being expanded out to the full version at the user's choice.

    I just requested restoring this too. I have a wide screen monitor and enough space for the full version side bar showing all projects, and I can drag and drop inbox items to different project folders rather than clicking multiple time for find the project I want and assign inbox items.

    Just coming back to this. It is so incredibly frustrating. After dealing with this for the last few weeks it is making Akiflow actually unusable for me and I am tempted to cancel and move elsewhere. I am quite shocked they decided this was an ‘upgrade’! This does need addressing asap.

    Yep, I’d agree. What I like is that Akiflow has more and more optional views, all of which have real merit. But what’s needed is more customization about what stays visible for each user as we all work a little differently. I’d also like the option to pin this open (and change its width!!) or to go back to pure hover.

    (On the subject of customized views, I’d still really love the option just to see tasks, not calendar, when desired. A tight little task window — optionally even floating! — is so helpful under pressure.)

    I would love the ability to return the side bar to the full version. I’m sure the slimmer side bar works for some people, but I much prefer having all my projects in view. It’s far more cumbersome to have to open a list each time to click between them all. I also much prefer having all my current projects in immediate view.

    I would also be interested in the ability to pin folders, rather than individual projects, if returning to the full view is not possible. I wonder if a shortcut to go between the two views might be feasible?

    I really don’t understand this update, what does making the sidebar ‘cleaner’ actually improve? It’s now harder for me to access everything, and now I just have a ton of wasted space in my sidebar. I tried pinning things, but apparently you can only pin 5 items. Even the planning rituals, a pretty foundational part of daily use of Akiflow are buried under an unhelpfully titled ‘More’ button.

    Please!!! Especially since, for those of us that don’t use the AI features, we’re essentially forced to pin the “meeting assistant” which just serves as a useless icon. The new sidebar makes me want to stop using this app.
