I second this feature request, but would like to add nuance to it.
Imagine the following timeslot:
Outdoor work (timeslot currently scheduled between 1pm-1:30pm)
Mow the front lawn (30 min)
Weedwack (15 min)
Trim hedges (15 min)
Notice that the time slot is just 30 minutes, yet we have an hour's worth of work to do. I’d want a clear visual rollup with an indicator that we have more work scheduled in the timeslot than we’ve set time aside to complete it.
Outdoor work (1pm-1:30pm, 30min schedule / 1hr total work, needs = 30 more min)
Mow the front lawn (30 min)
Weedwack (15 min)
Trim hedges (15 min)
A clear visual indicator. In addition to this, right next to the overage, I'd want a button “Extend Timeslot” to automatically extend the time of the time slot downwards to cover all work. In this case, the timeslot would become from 1pm-2pm.
If we remove an item from the timeslot (“Trim hedges”), we should similarly see the discrepancy and suggest reducing the timeslot instead.
Critically, it would be a shame to automatically always extend the timeslot to fit the work involved. It's nice to be able to throw a bunch of tasks into a time slot to get them scheduled somewhere on your calendar, even if you know you aren't going to be able to complete everything in that time window. It lets you see everything in one group and then just prioritize what you're working on quickly.

Do you mean the slot should automatically resize on the calendar to match the total duration of its tasks? For example, adding two 30-minute tasks would make it one hour long.
We already show the combined task duration, but automatically changing the slot’s length is a separate feature request.
