An even more helpful feature would be to have the Focus Timer track the time for the task that the user is working on. It would enable task time tracking & analytics in Akiflow – a use case that I know many users struggle with is estimating time required for a task, so that one can understand the systematic bias in their time estimates and therefore what a realistic workload is. Please consider it

Jeson P yes 100%! i chronically under estimate and would love a way to compare, planned vs actual timing. It also helps Akiflow AI to understand how long certain tasks tasks.

Another option would be to integrate with a time tracker - toggl track/timery - instead of building a time tracker from scratch

Some features I'd like to see in the time tracker:
Start time tracker from any task
Keep a history of how where time is spent. Have it viewable in the calendar
Sync time tracked to a calendar in google calendar. Useful to see a comparison of planned time vs actual time spent
Show statistics of past time tracked. Slice the data by week, month, etc.
In the timer include a -5 +5 minute to increase or decrease work time or break time by 5 minute increments. Fixed 25 minute focus / 5 minute break sessions don't always work.
Ability to switch from pomodoro timer to normal timer from the timer floating window
Option to enable a gentle sound reminder to keep focused on the active task and configure what sound and how often to play it. This has been such a helpful feature on other pomodoro timer called Session.
Reminders to start the timer. One of my main problems with time trackers is actually forgetting to start tracking time.
When focus time runs out, give you the option to keep working or taking a break. Or you can always add + 5 minutes or subtract - 5 minutes
Timer in menu bar.
A place to log some quick notes specific to the context of the timer for reflection of how the session went.
Option for Full screen or window on top of other apps for break time. This forces you to take a break away from your screen

Is it possible to get a timeline for this? I'm currently in the process of deciding between Sunsama and Akiflow, and my this is one of the features that is heavily affecting my decision. If the timer is going to come sometime in the next month I would love to stick with Akiflow!

Yassine Belmamoun: couldn’t agree more. Also exploring switching. Not being able to do checkboxes on tablet/ mobile and not being able to segment out the task for different durations in the day is tough

Please focus on the planner and focus part of Akiflow more and a bit less on the chat pal Aki part. Your app is great thanks to it's ability to gather and plan tasks, so please help us plan and mainly track better. This feature is essential for Akiflow to give it's users features they will actually use.

Adam Ryba The Aki bot is getting a lot of attention from the team and has not proven to be very helpful, at least to me. Meanwhile, things like having a functional monthly calendar have recieved no attention.

Brandon Calano: Thanks for sharing your thoughts—we really appreciate the honest feedback.
Aki is something we’re progressively building because we believe it’ll make a lot of things easier and more powerful inside Akiflow over time. That said, we totally hear you on the importance of having a functional monthly calendar, It’s definitely on our radar, and while we haven’t started work on it yet (so no ETA for now), we’ll make sure to notify you once we do.

I use Toggl for time tracking. Having an integration would probably help many people instantly. If you plan to build your own time tracker, make sure it is able to sync with third party time trackers. In my opinion Akiflow is meant to consolidate my data rather than create new data, and time tracking is a major part of this external data that I want to get in one single source of truth.

I fully support this feature. I came over from sunsama, currently trialing, I think it might be the only thing missing.
Tags/labels convinced me to try it but the reflection on actual vs planned and multiple segments of a task getting completed are important to me. Otherwise I’m loving it more than sunsama so far. Will probably cancel the other one

Please add a timer - may be the one thing that makes me hang on to my Sunsama subscription. It's nice to have that pie chart of where my time is going each day. Please 🙏🏼

I find it really disappointing that the most-voted feedback is not receiving full support. While the AI workflow you have created is impressive, it's not the feature that everyone is looking forward to. What we really need is a tracker to monitor the hours spent on a task via a timer. In the new Release 2.48, I was hoping for an upgrade to the timer feature, but it remains unchanged. I understand that you want to help us with all the AI-supported functionalities, but our fundamental need is a working Pomodoro timer that links with tasks and provides us with statistics. This is all we are really looking for in this thread. I hope we receive support for this feature soon.
