Akiflow to allow shareable links to specific tasks

Being able to paste into other productivity apps a URL that opens up a specific Akiflow task in the Akiflow application ideally, or at least on the web, would complete the productivity app linking cycle that is currently broken.

While we are able to add URLs to other internet productivity sites and other locally installed apps (e.g. on My Mac), these other apps cannot point to the task that spawned them.

Examples:

  • I can link out from an Akiflow task to local documents in Apple Notes, Freeform, Noteplan or Obsidian, but I cannot currently link back to the task that originated that note or document.

  • I can link to a internet sites from Akiflow, e.g. Google docs/sheets, whiteboard or mind mapping sites, but I cannot link back to the task that originated the content

    Backlink into Akiflow Tasks

Currently, I can link from Akiflow to local apps on my Mac, but I would like the ability to backlink from these apps back into the originating task in Akiflow. This would require Akiflow to support Mac App links, allowing for a seamless two-way connection between Akiflow and other productivity apps.

Akiflow task links can now open the corresponding task in the installed Desktop app, making it possible to return to your task from a note or another app.

To enable automatic opening, turn on Open Akiflow links in the desktop app in the web app’s Settings. This preference applies to the browser and device where you enable it. Available in web app 2.81 that started rolling out today. Make sure you are on 2.81 version.

This is now supported: an Akiflow task link saved in a note, document or another app can open that specific task in Akiflow Desktop.

Enable Open Akiflow links in the desktop app in the web app’s Settings to open these links automatically in Desktop. Links retain the task’s existing access permissions. Available in 2.81 app version that started rolling out today.
