Ability to put subtasks inside of the main task

Right now I don’t feel like subtasks are very useful. In my opinion, the benefit of a subtask is that I can combine multiple little tasks into one larger bucket. So they don’t clutter my task list. And sure maybe I can pull the one I’m working on today out onto my calendar or something, but by default I would expect that they live inside of the parent task graphically. But right now, they all live at the same level, so not only do they clutter my to do list just as much as before, but now there’s one extra one (the parent task), so it’s actually gotten worse.
