Assign todos to meetings

Add a way to attach real todos to a calendar event, so tasks can explicitly “belong to” a meeting.

Use case

In our company we have dedicated weekly 1:1 Slack channels (example: #weekly-manager-employee). During the week we dump things that should be handled in the next meeting. Today I import those into Akiflow via bookmark import, but then they float as normal tasks. I want to drag/link those tasks into the meeting itself so they’re clearly tied to that specific event.

What it should do

Each event can contain a “Todos for this meeting” list
Add existing todos by drag-and-drop into the event, or create new todos from within the event
Link, don’t duplicate: the same todo keeps its identity, status, comments, due date, etc.
Option to show these meeting-linked todos in the global task view (with a “linked to meeting X” reference)
Recurring meetings: todos can be linked to a specific occurrence (not just the series)

Why

Makes it trivial to collect and process todos that are meant to be handled during a meeting
Removes the need to use email/Slack threads as the “meeting todo system”
Keeps tasks organized by the meeting they depend on without losing them in the general backlog

Slot linked to an event

i would like to be able to directly link a task slot to a calendar event in akiflow.

in my use case i often have recurring meetings, and these meetings generate tasks that my staff needs to execute. so a very convenient solution would be to associate a task slot directly with a calendar event, so that when i create or move the event the related tasks are automatically updated or visible in relation to that appointment.

right now i’m using two approaches:

i create a task slot at the same date and time as the appointment. the problem is that when i move the appointment, the slot stays in place and doesn’t update with the event.
i assign a specific tag to the task, linked to the person or the meeting type. that way when i look at the appointment i search for tasks with that tag. but it’s not ideal because there’s no direct link between event and task, and i still have to find them manually.

for me, having a task slot directly linked to a calendar event would be a much smoother and more efficient solution.

Hey @Marco Casali, thanks for sharing! This is definitely something we’ll look into. I’ve always like the idea to have elements associated with events (tasks, notes, etc..) and I think we’ll soon start to work on something like this

Add/affect tasks to a meeting

Would be lovely to be able to affect tasks to meetings to help make meeting agenda/notes and in case of recurring meeting, automate the rescheduling to the affected tasks to the next meeting iteration if not completed before then.

Thanks for sharing this idea! Being able to assign todos directly to meetings would be a great way to keep tasks organized and tied to specific events, especially for recurring meetings or team workflows. We’ll pass this suggestion along to the product team for consideration.
