Automatically delete/marked as complete clogged overdue tasks on a recurring instance

To establish routines, I rely on recurring tasks. However, when I’m on holiday or miss a few days, these tasks pile up, leaving me unable to catch up on the overdue ones. It would be ideal if overdue recurring tasks could either be automatically marked as done or deleted, as it doesn’t make sense to keep tasks open when they can no longer be completed.
