Changes to Meeting Assistant
I very much wanted this new add on to work for me, but it is missing some of the features I consider must-haves, including:
1. Option for bot to not appear as a participant in the meeting
2. Option to transcribe phone conversations and in-person meetings
3. Cost a little lower, as competing platforms are $10-15/mo
Check out granola.ai if you want to see a platform that is doing these things pretty well. With these upgrades, I would gladly add on the add on

Meeting Assistant Feedback
I’m very excited about the new feature. However, it would be better if the software captured the audio from the computer in the background rather than being an assistant that has to join the meeting itself, like we see on other platforms such as Fyxer or Notion.

Hey Ana! thanks so much for your feedback! We decided to go with bot implementation because it was faster to build so we can test if there's interest from Akiflow users to use our own transcript feature. We are exploring ways for on-device recording (without bot joining calls) and we might offer that as an option going forward.

Changes to Meeting Assistant
Make it able to be activated manually for any meeting, not just ones on the calendar. I use Granola now, mainly because it has this feature available.
It also pops up when it thinks it detects a meeting in progress, which is great.
And I prefer that I have the option of it showing up as a meeting participant or not (again, Granola and other platforms offer this).
I love that Meeting Assistant integrates with Tasks in Akiflow, so just hoping for these extra features and it will be a complete win.

Hey Rick, we hear you. We just recently released an option to invite Aki Meeting Assistant manually to any meeting, did you try this already?
Since you mentioned Granola, do you wish Aki Meeting Assistant would be bot-less meaning it does not need to be invited to a meeting and records locally? This is something we have no plans to support, but we are exploring a way to integrate with other providers like Granola and you would be able to see full meeting transcript from Granola in Akiflow, suggested action items from a meeting that you can turn into Akiflow task with just one click, etc. Is this something you would be interested to try?
