Akiflow for Wear OS
Capture tasks, check off your lists and see what's happening now or next, right on your wrist. The Wear OS app works together with Akiflow on your Android phone.
Before you start
You need:
A watch with Wear OS 3 or later, paired with your Android phone.
The Akiflow Android app, version 2.85 or later, signed in to your account.
The watch app is a companion to the Android app. It uses your phone's sign-in and data, so there is nothing to sign in to on the watch, and it needs your paired phone to stay up to date. It doesn't work with an iPhone.
Install the app
On Wear OS, the watch app doesn't install together with the phone app, so there's one extra step.
Update Akiflow on your Android phone and open it, with your watch nearby and connected.
In your Inbox, a notice says Akiflow is ready for your watch. Tap Install on watch.
Google Play opens on your watch. Tap Install there.
Open Akiflow on your watch. Your lists arrive from your phone within a few seconds.
If you closed the notice, go to Settings β General β Watch on your phone and tap Install Akiflow on your watch. You can also open Google Play on your watch and search for Akiflow.
If the phone says Couldn't reach your watch. Make sure it's nearby and try again., bring your watch closer to your phone and tap again.
Until the first sync, the watch shows Open Akiflow on your phone to sync your tasks.
Your lists
Home shows five lists: Inbox, Today, This week, This month and All tasks. Inbox and Today show how many tasks you have left to do.

Home on a Wear OS watch. Scroll down for This week, This month and All tasks.
Each list matches your phone: the same tasks, sections, sorting and filters. To change how a list is sorted or filtered, or whether it shows completed tasks, change it on your phone and the watch follows.
Today is split into Overdue, To-dos, Scheduled on calendar and Done. Done starts collapsed and shows how many tasks it holds: tap its header to open it. It only appears when Today shows completed tasks on your phone.
This week and This month show the overdue and to-do tasks planned for the current week and month.
All tasks may show Loading all tasks from your phone⦠the first time on a large account.
A list with nothing in it shows All done.
The Today count includes every task left today, even when a project filter on Today hides some of them, so it can be higher than the number of tasks you see.
Each row shows the task's title, when it's planned (in red when it's overdue) and its project.

The Today list. Tap a checkbox to complete a task, or the row to open it.
Tap a task to see its details: when it's scheduled or planned, its duration, project and calendar. Turn the crown or swipe to scroll.

Task details. Tap Mark as done to complete the task.
The watch has no search, date navigation, sorting or filters of its own. Events and time slots don't appear in the lists. You can see them on the Tile and the complication.
Complete a task
In a list: tap the checkbox next to the task. Tap it again to reopen the task.
In task details: tap Mark as done. On a completed task, the button says Reopen.
The task moves out of the list and the counts on Home update straight away, even when your phone isn't nearby.
Completing a task from the watch works like on your phone: an Inbox or Someday task is planned for today and marked done. The watch doesn't show the questions your phone sometimes asks when you complete a task. Instead:
Tasks from integrations follow the action you saved for that integration, for example marking the item done in the original app. If you haven't saved an action, the task is completed in Akiflow only.
Recurring tasks complete this occurrence only.
Tasks with subtasks complete on their own. Their subtasks stay as they are.
Capture a task
Tap + at the bottom of Home or any list. You can also tap + on the Akiflow Tile or on the Akiflow: new task complication.
On the New task screen, speak, type or pick an emoji, depending on what your watch offers, then confirm.
Akiflow confirms with Created, or Queued if your phone is out of reach. A queued task reaches your Inbox the next time your phone is in range.
The task goes to your Inbox with exactly the text you entered. The watch doesn't read dates, times, projects or tags from it, so Call John tomorrow 3pm is saved as written. Plan it later on your phone or computer.
Voice input uses your watch's built-in speech input. Aki isn't available on Wear OS.
Tile
The Akiflow Tile shows what's left today at a glance. To add it, swipe left from your watch face to your tiles, touch and hold a tile, and add Akiflow. The steps can differ slightly between watch brands.

The Akiflow Tile. Tap an item to open it, or + to capture a task.
Under Today, it shows up to three items that are happening now or later today: tasks with a time, events and time slots. Each shows Now or its start time, then its title.
When nothing is left today, it shows All done.
Tap an item to open it, or tap + to capture a task.
When you're signed out, or before the first sync, it shows Open Akiflow on your phone.
Complications
Akiflow offers two complications for your watch face. To add one, touch and hold your watch face, tap the edit or settings button, tap a complication slot and choose an Akiflow complication. Which complications fit depends on the watch face.

Akiflow: next item in a wide slot (top) and a small slot (bottom left), and Akiflow: new task (bottom right).
Which item Akiflow: next item shows:
Something happening now comes first. If several overlap, the one that started earliest.
Otherwise, the next item later today.
All-day items, completed tasks, overdue tasks, tasks without a time and duration, tasks inside a time slot, time slots whose tasks are all done and events you declined are skipped.
When nothing is left today, it shows All done (Done in a small slot). Tomorrow's items appear after midnight.
Tap the complication to open the item it shows. When it shows All done, tapping opens Home. Times follow your watch's 12-hour or 24-hour setting.
Event and time slot details are read-only. They show the time, duration, calendar and, for a time slot, its project and how many of its tasks are done.
Notifications
Your watch shows the same Akiflow notifications as your phone, using your settings in Settings β Notifications in the Android app. Notifications you turn off on your phone don't appear on your watch either.
Tapping a notification on your watch opens it on your phone, not on your watch. Join on a meeting notification opens the meeting on your phone. Notifications don't have a Complete button: open the task on your watch and tap its checkbox.
Away from your phone
Your lists and details stay available when your watch can't reach your phone, even after you restart the watch. A line at the top of the list shows Phone not connected and when the lists were last updated.
You can still capture and complete tasks. They are saved on your watch and sent as soon as your watch can reach your phone again.
Your phone adds the changes from your watch while Akiflow is open on it or running in the background. If you closed Akiflow on your phone, open it once and your changes arrive.
If the line says Not updated today Β· Open Akiflow on your phone, open Akiflow on your phone.
Changes that weren't delivered
If a change can't be delivered, Home shows a row such as 1 not delivered. Tap it to see what happened:
Changes that are still on their way show on the same screen under Sending, or Waiting for your phone when it's out of reach.
If your watch can't find Akiflow on your phone
If the watch can't find Akiflow on your phone, it shows Akiflow on your phone. Install, update or open Akiflow on your phone, or tap Open on phone to open it in Google Play.
Signing out and switching accounts
Signing out of Akiflow on your phone removes your data from the watch, which then shows You're signed out. If you sign in with another account, the watch shows only that account's tasks.
What the Wear OS app doesn't do
Edit, plan, reschedule or delete tasks. You can complete and reopen them.
Show a calendar or let you browse, edit or complete events and time slots.
Search, or show Someday, Projects or Tags.
Aki or Google Assistant.
Work on its own without a paired Android phone, or with an iPhone.
